Congratulations to the Shawnee Heights high school newspaper staff for winning the All-Kansas Award for the 2nd year in a row! The categories they were judged on were: Reporting, Visuals, Design, Leadership and Coverage! Awesome job Totem Team!

Attention all athletes - In order for your physical to be valid for the 2023 -2024 school they have be dated 5/1/2023 OR AFTER. They cannot be dated prior to that and be used for next school year. Please feel free to take advantage of this low-cost option hosted by Stormont!

SHHS Art students visited with residents at Homestead Assisted Living and helped them create beautiful sculptures last week! The sculptures were unique and reflected the residents' personalities, and students were able to create meaningful connections.

TONIGHT, Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm our SH Band Boosters are hosting a Food Truck Fundraiser in the high school parking lot. Come enjoy great food and music while supporting our band!

Our college biology class went out in the field collecting water samples and testing them for various parameters like temp, pH, dissolved oxygen and conductivity. We love putting our classroom learning into practice and getting hands-on experience with scientific data collection.

The SHHS Drama Dept is excited to present their spring play – Little Women! Performances are this week, April 20th through April 22nd at 7 pm. Tickets are $5 for general admission (or free with a student activity pass) and can be purchased at the door.

SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION There are only a few spots left! We have extented the sign-up deadline to April 14th. YOU MUST BE A CURRENT SHHS student that is at least 14 years of age AND has completed 9th grade prior to the first day of classroom. Forms are avalible in the High School main office, please see Mrs. Owens if you have any questions.

Elementary Night is tonight, April 6th! Elementary students get in free to our girls' soccer game at Bettis with a paid adult admission and can walk on the field with the players - line up at 6:00 pm. Food Trucks are available as part of a fundraiser for the soccer team.

Local Artist, Coco, visited the SHHS art class today to teach a lesson on Mail Art. She spoke about Mail Art history, brought samples from around the world, and had the class create their own postcard.
