2025 Bond Project Overview
We want to extend our sincere thanks to the voters of Shawnee Heights for your support of the bond issue. According to the final unofficial results from the Shawnee County Election Office, the bond passed with 3,022 YES votes (69%) and 1,346 NO votes (31%). Your support reflects the value our community places on education and the success of every student.
Bond Progress Update
Since the successful bond election in November 2025, Shawnee Heights USD 450 has been actively moving forward with planning and early project work. While large-scale construction is still ahead, several important steps have already taken place.
What's Happening Now
Planning and design are underway across all schools, with input from staff, architects, and construction managers to ensure that spaces meet the needs of students and staff.
Construction partners have been selected, and design meetings are ongoing.
Projects are being phased over the next three years to minimize disruption and keep schools operating smoothly.
Summer 2026 Projects
This summer, you will begin to see visible improvements, including
Turf for accessibility and some additional playground equipment at the elementary schools
Shade structures added to each elementary playground
HVAC improvements at the high school
Construction Timeline (Major Projects)
High School: Construction begins September 2026
Middle School: Construction begins November 2026
Berryton Elementary: Construction begins October 2026
Shawnee Heights Elementary: Construction begins June 2027
Tecumseh North & Tecumseh South: Construction begins January 2028
Looking Ahead
While major construction will begin later this year, much of the current work is focused on thoughtful planning and design. Some projects will begin this fall, where work can occur without disrupting the school day, while others will be scheduled during the summer months. See the Overall Bond Schedule below.

The estimated tax impact is $1.44 per month, or $17.25 per year, per $100,000 of residential home value.
